My new version of “Exinlusivity” deals with relationship between beliefs and loss. Two religious practitioners Eric Murphy and Rev. Shinri Maya Hara participated!! Their performances were amazing and will be part of my video installation shown in an exhibition “Resistance” at SOMArts. Opening is this Friday 7-10pm and runs through May 27. Their gallery is located at 934 Brannan Street, between 8th and 9th.
I am not religious at all, but seeing Japan has been suffering from earthquakes and so many people in many countries from political conflicts, I thought that we many times simply need to have a sense of conviction to keep going in the world. I really wanted to try to touch how each of us survives in the face of loss that confines us within the wall of despair.
